I’m the daughter of two public school educators. Both of my parents retired recently with careers that lasted over 40 years. I was raised with the understanding that education and educators are the front line in the fight for social justice. After graduating from UTSA with a BA in English, I joined the non-profit sector. Over the last 20 years I have become a well respected youth development professional and am considered collaborative and solution focused. I have worked for Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas and San Antonio Youth Literacy. In my current role at Big Brother Big Sisters of South Texas I work adamantly to recruit volunteers, train and support families, and connect local companies with schools in order to match more students with caring adult role models.
